Time of Day Analysis
Main Features
The DINIS(E) Time of Day module is designed to allow a DINIS(E) user to examine the
effect of the loads on a network varying with time.
The time periods and duration to be studied may be specified, and any period of time can be used: whether minutes,
hours or days. This allows a large range of analyses of a network - from every minute during a specified hour to once a day for
every day of a whole year.
This is a major enhancement to a standard load flow, which typically uses the maximum demands of loads, and can
produce significant errors when different types of loads have non-coincident maximum demands.
 |
The Time of Day module runs a series of load flows,
one for each moment in the period of time chosen by the user. |
 |
Before each load flow, DINIS alters the loads according to
the customer data for that moment |
 |
After each load flow, the standard results for
all the objects in the circuit are stored so that once the study has completed, the user is able to examine the
results for each analysis. |
 |
Time of Day is, by nature, a computational and
storage intensive task. For every moment in an analysis, DINIS has to update all the loads, run the analysis and
store the results. A normal day has 48 half hours which means that DINIS has do the calculations and store the
results 48 times |
 |
It is not expected that Time of Day is run
interactively except for small circuits or limited time periods. |
